BUDAPEST OPERA BALLET

Budapest Theatres - Budapest has a fine theatre tradition, although elaborate productions are in short supply. International musicals and long established domestic shows make up the vast majority of what's staged here. Budapest's larger theatres are mostly early 20th century and many of which have been renovated in recent years. The Budapest Opera House is aa most magnificent building and well worth visiting so try and fit in a performance during your stay.

Travel Guide

House in Budapest is something not to be missed and although less well known than the Vienna Opera House, many believe the productions are on a par. Performance listings can be found in Pesti Est or Pesti Müso. Budapest Week carries reviews for new shows. Curtain up is usually between 7 to 8 pm. As in many eastern European cities you are asked to take of your coat and put it in the cloakroom before entering the auditorium.
